Former NBA star Earvin “Magic” Johnson has been named as SuperZoo’s 2016 keynote speaker and Styx has been announced as the concert performer.

SuperZoo, produced by the World Pet Association and held August 1-4 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, will have Johnson, CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises, open the 2016 trade show with a keynote on persevering through setbacks and how he parlayed his skills and tenacity on the court into success in the business world. He will share how his company has provided high quality products and services while assisting underserved urban communities across the United States for more than 30 years.

“To say Magic Johnson’s work ethic and business intelligence are exceptional is an understatement,” said Doug Poindexter, president of WPA. “He’s built a globally recognized and respected brand while simultaneously helping transform our country through philanthropic efforts; we can't think of a better speaker to help shed light on how to stand out in 2016.”

SuperZoo also revealed the 2016 concert will feature renowned rock band, Styx. The first group to score four consecutive triple-platinum albums, Styx performs more than 100 shows per year and is recognized for its American rock hits including Renegade, Blue Collar Man and Come Sail Away. Styx will take the stage for a private SuperZoo concert at the Mandalay Bay House of Blues at 6:15 p.m. on August 3.

Anticipating more than 700 new product debuts to meet the demands of the growing pet industry, WPA has also expanded the SuperZoo show floor by 85,000 square feet and added an extra day to the show, dedicated to education. The conference will run August 1-3 and the trade show will be open August 2-4. Registration for the 2016 show is now open.
