Kriser’s Natural Pet, a multi-unit retailer specializing in natural pet food, supplies and grooming, will open its first San Antonio store on Jan. 30 in Stone Oak.

The store, located in Sonterra Village at 427 N. Loop 1604 W. adjacent to Trader Joe’s, will debut with a grand opening celebration Jan. 30-31. This opening in San Antonio comes after Kriser’s four openings in Houston over the last two years. Kriser’s has 30 stores in four states: Illinois, Texas, Colorado and Calfornia.

Kriser’s is known for its selection of natural food, treats, toys, supplements, supplies and grooming services.

“Our newest location in this thriving neighborhood of San Antonio is an exciting opportunity to become a trusted resource for local pet parents,” said Brad Kriser founder and CEO in a news release announcing the opening.

Kriser’s has been recognized with multiple national honors for excellence in the pet industry, most recently with the Best Overall Pet Retailer at the 2015 Global Pet Expo.

Kriser’s is joining a busy pool of pet retailers in San Antonio, ranging from big-box centers to boutique shops. The pet industry in Texas and the United States is thriving, with an estimated $60 billion spent on pet products and services in the U.S. last year.

Kriser’s will offer a number of activities and promotions throughout its grand opening weekend including free pet ID tags, free nail trimming (11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday) and free pet photography (Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.). Other giveaways and in-store raffles will be held as well.

The store will donate a portion of pet food sales from Saturday to local pet rescue Cressie Animal Refuge & Enrichment.
