All-natural porous ceramic conditioner improves soil structure and growth conditions
BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. – Profile Products has introduced Profile® Lawn & Landscape, a new, all-purpose porous ceramic soil conditioner that permanently modifies soil structure for improved growing conditions in flower beds, lawns and containers. The new product can help landscape architects better ensure the successful establishment and long-term sustainability of their designs.
One application of Profile Lawn & Landscape lasts years and has been proven in a variety of university studies across the country to improve the root zone by adding air- and water-holding capacity in all types of soils. The improved soil offers better drainage when conditions are wet and better water-holding capacity during dry conditions. Roots grow deeper, resulting in stronger, larger plants season after season.
“Soil plays a critical role in the success or failure of a design project, but most soil around existing sites lacks balanced structure and pore space,” said Jeff Langner, Profile Products brand manager. “Profile Lawn & Landscape improves soil at the granular level by increasing nutrient- and water-retention and improving drainage—all in a single application.”
Unlike organic materials such as peat, compost or topsoil, Profile Lawn & Landscape is made of ceramic particles that will not decompose or break down over time. Improvements to soil structure and pore space are permanent. Research studies from university and independent labs, including the University of Missouri and Tifton Physical Soil Labs, confirm that Profile Lawn & Landscape outperforms other soil amendments in a variety applications, from reducing drought stress to improving turf quality.
Profile Lawn & Landscape is versatile enough to accommodate any design and is an effective amendment in containers, hanging baskets, rooftop gardens, planting beds and vegetable gardens. It can also be used as backfill around trees or shrubs or for lawn maintenance or aerification.
“The same results you have on day one will remain for the life of the project,” Langner said. “With Lawn & Landscape, our philosophy is ‘Do it right once and you’re done.’”
